Welcome
Okay, I know what you’re all thinking, so let’s get all the CPA jokes and snickers out of the way and move ahead.
A patient was at her doctor’s office after undergoing a complete physical exam.
The doctor said, “I have some very grave news for you. You only have six months to live.”
The patient asked, “Oh doctor, what should I do?”
The doctor replied, “Marry an accountant.”
“Will that make me live longer?” asked the patient.
“No,” said the doctor, “but it will SEEM longer.”
In today’s complicated, technological era you need to do more as a small business owner than keeping a shoebox full of dusty receipts and hiring dear sweet Aunt Edna to add them up at the end of the year.
Many small business owners have turned to financial management software packages such as QuickBooks to help organize income and expenses, but without proper set-up, training, and maintenance, those software packages become as useless as Aunt Edna’s “Hits of the 60’s” collection of 8-track tapes.
You need a professional with the credentials and experience necessary to help choose, set-up, and maintain an accounting system. Hiring a qualified CPA is a way to delegate the functions that waste time that you could use to focus on profitability.
I am Dale Thornton. I am a Certified Public Accountant that has been helping individuals and small businesses in the Greater Baton Rouge area since 2001.
